According to me the difference is the price tag that comes with PPC & SEO techniques. You are paying for the clicks that PPC sends your way, whereas the clicks from SEO are free. SEO is a slower process however, the effects of SEO are both longer lasting and cheaper than PPC.

PPC you pay for, SEO you should pay for, but most people try it themselves. You can get results on your own, but it will probably take less time to get a pro to do it. PPC and SEO are relatively internet marketing method. However PPC is not part of SEO.
PPC:
-high risk marketing, not recommended for internet newbies.
-stop paying you once you stop paying for advertisement.
SEO:
-low risk
-pays you along the way since the link to your product is forever active
