SEOPanel 3.4.0 not really working on 4 different hosts

Postby barnabee » Sat May 10, 2014 10:30 pm

Hi there,

I am trying to get SEOPanel fully working but with no luck.
Keyword rankings are not collected and Backlink reports are generated for .com-Versions of the search engines but i need them for Germany.
I already tried it on 4 different hosts cant find what I am doing wrong.
The situation is as follows:

I install SEOPanel, import the German Search Engines and add my page.
Website Doctor is working.
Rank Checker is working.
Backlink Checker shows figures for englisch versions of google and bing instead of german ones.
Suchmaschinensichtbarkeit shows figures for englisch versions of google and bing instead of german ones.

Keyword Ranking Checker is trying to collect Rankings but after a while the "animation" goes away and nothing happens.
I activated debug mode and got an max_exectution_time TimeOut.
I made a local XAMPP install and set max_execution_time from 120 up to 600 seconds and always got a timeout.
So the timeout might not be the real reason.
Actually I thought the scripts have a loop where the script calls itself again to workaround those max_execution_time problems.
Because the cron is called via php this will produce a timeout as well, wouldnt it?

As already written I tried it on 4 different host including the local XAMPP installation and I dont know what else I could try.
Is there a error.log or some other logfile where i could look at?

I would love to give this promising tool a try but at the moment i am frustrated. :(

Thanks in advance vor every hint and help with my issues.

Best wishes to all, barnabee

We have just released new version of seo panel 3.5.0, try it first =>

And about backlink checking, the back link count in google.com & google.de is always same. That why we always check in .com version.

We use link:http://yoururl/ method for finding backlink.

To do report generation successfully, please use cron job.

Have you checked following link for effective report generation

I am sure this method will help you.

Don't forget to try latest version of seo panel.
Thanks,

Well, after all i got it working on a fifth host. ;)
Actually it was a problem of the local search engines sql file i got after spending 10 € in 2011.
I think there should be an actual file be available for people who already spent for that (maybe the forum account can be linked to already ordered plugins) or you should note that search engines have changed so that the admin can keep an eye on that. Just my opinion. ;)

SEOPanel is definitely a great tool but it still has some issues especially for using it on shared hosting providers.
What i noticed while testing on the different providers:

1. its not possible to run the cronjob via http:// if you have no console or if your provider doesnt offer cronjobs via console
a possible way to get this working is to give the possibility to let it run by giving a token (i already used this for some other scripts)

2. i am not sure if its a problem of the cronjob script or a bad implementation of Zend on the shared hosting but i got a segmentation fault when the cronjob tried to run

This should not be understood as only critics i just thought it might be helpful.

One thing i have to get used to as it always drives me a bit crazy is that the installed version looks to much like the seopanel.in website.
I always have to look twice if i am on the website or in my installed version. ;)
So the look of the software could be a bit different.
And it would be nice to have the possibilities to add more figures to the dashboard.

Let me say it again: This should not be understood as only critics i just thought it might be helpful. ;)

Best, Barnabee

If your hosting provider doesn't allow setting cronjobs and you're looking for a simpler solution, you might consider a webcron services which will load a http:// URL at a given time.
For example, https://www.easycron.com
