Install Google Analytics ID Code

Hello!

Where should I paste Google Analytics ID Code for tracking the stats of my website?
I've tried to paste it in the Footer of the theme, in the Default of the theme and even in the index.php. In every case Google Analytics says the Code is not in the page. However, it's easily viewable in the source code (www.coolseotool.com).
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I just did what you suggested and the ID code shows up when you view the source code of the website. Anyone can see it, a bit before the Statcounter code...

However, Google Analytics still says the tracking code is not installed (even after reloading the website and Google Analytics itself...). Am I doing something wrong? Other suggestions?

UPDATE!

In spite of the message of ID code not found still visible in Google Analytics, the fact is that it started to track the visitors, a few minutes ago... So, I figure it must be some "glitch" fo Google Analytics...
