About search engine features: how did you get results?

Hello,

I'm a PHP developer very interested in understanding your methods for extracting query results from google, bing & yahoo.

Today it seems almost impossible to access to a search engine functions without private key authentication (i.e. Oauth / API key): inside SEOPanel code I did not found anything about this, and that was really surprising for me. So in the database I found some interesting string (like "http://google.com/search...") with all useful parameters for customizing search. I saw you have a cycle for finding rank of a keyword for a selected website (this is the application side which I'm really interested), but in some way I can't figure out the point in which you retrieve (and check) results. I also suppose you make "slow" queries to all that search engines, because too fast should mean bans for all the users that generate a lot of reports (i.e. 1 per day) . Can you help me understand the technique you used for treating search engine results?

Actually we used regular expressions to parse the results from search engine after getting the pages through the php curl method. Hope this will help you.
